Definition:

CSO is the acronym for Contract Service Organization, commonly used when referring to outsourcing of tasks within the biotech industry. The CSO might specialize in one of many aspects of the biotech/ pharmaceutical business including manufacturing, legal, research or other services. There are many different options for outsourcing and different companies will hire a CSO to handle different tasks depending on their needs, size, specialties and resources.
