Qualifications

Hiring a professional contractor is seldom done on a blind leap of faith. An RFP should ask for documentation to demonstrate the qualifications of bidders to perform the required tasks. Asking for resumes and certificates of staff ensures that they have the proper training and the right skills combination for managing a contract. Company licenses should be included to demonstrate proper registration, insurance, and ability to handle dangerous or hazardous materials, in addition to all certifications for particular processes and standard operating procedures (GLP, GCP, GMP etc.). Companies claiming to have ISO certification should also be able to provide documentation of audits and manuals outlining their standard procedures.
