In follow up my overview of recent research that has moved development of a universal flu vaccine closer, I had the opportunity to discuss with BiondVax's CSO their efforts in creating a single vaccine effective against all flu variants.

Although a small company of 14 people, BiondVax has one of the most established universal flu vaccine development programs. They are in phase II trials for approval of their vaccine as an immune system primer to boost the effectiveness of the standard seasonal influenza vaccine, and anticipate the same formulation will eventually completely replace the seasonal vaccines.

For more information on BiondVax's vaccine development approach and program and, take a look at the full article, One Company's Effort to Develop a Single Vaccine against All Influenza which summarizes the discussion I had with Dr. Tamar Ben Yedidia, BiondVax's CSO.
